Venice: Style & Travel Diary Part 1

So last Thursday off I went to enjoy the beautiful sights of Venice, and ma gad it was lovely.
I was talking about wanting to go last summer and didn't really think anything of it but then came my birthday in October I was surprised with a little January trip woooop!

So I thought I would do a little travel diary come style diary to fill you all in on my eventful weekend and the outfits I wore.

Jacket - Missguided
Playsuit - Asos
Boots - Public Desire
Hat - Asos
Belt - Primark

Even though this was only a weekend trip we had to pack up a suitcase whilst pretty much everyone else on the plane just had carry on's (oops) buttt I really wanted to take more than one coat because come on in cold weather when you are all wrapped up the only part of the outfit that properly matters is the coat - especially when you are outside sight seeing most of the time.

The whole outfit is new (its obviously just been Christmas because this rarely happens anymore - cries). I am in love with this jacket its so warm and cosy I didn't need to wear a big thick jumper or anything like that to keep warm it is perfect. You can shop this here

My old over the knee boots were getting a bit tatty and they weren't entirely what I wanted when I got them but they were the only thing around at the time. But then I found these new ones from Public Desire and I got straight in there. Out with the old and in with the new and all that jazz! If you like the look of these head on over to their website the link is here

The playsuit and the hat were buys from the asos sale. I do love a fedora and I love green so of course that happened - unfortunately out of stock now though ladies, I nabbed the last one (tehe). The playsuit I thought had a very boho festivally vibe which I loved - because it was chilly I put a little bandeau underneath because the v neck wrap front was quite low cut but normally I don't think I will do that. If you like this look you can shop it over here.

So here we were in this lovely place where we had to get a boat everyday to travel around which was great for all the sights you got to see from the canal. We arrived late afternoon on Thursday so we thought we would head on over to San Marco and get a view of Saint Mark's Square and Basilica at night. It was great, the square was basically empty which is unusual as it is the top sight to see in Venice.

For most of the afternoon and on into the evening we just had a little wonder around getting the feel of the place and working out what we wanted to do over the next few days. We found a nice little restaurant to have dinner (we had pasta and pizza of course) and headed back to the hotel which was particularly snazzy with is marble bathroom and really high ceilings!

Check out tomorrows post on day 2 in Venice for what I wore and all the sight seeing shenanigans that went on.
